Inspector follows playhead suboptimal with disabled clips

PostThu Dec 20, 2018 12:57 am

This probably isn't a bug as such, but for me it did violate the Principle of Least Astonishment

Normally, when no clip is selected, the inspector will follow the clip under the playhead. However when you have a disabled clip stacked on top of an enabled clip, the inspector will inspect the disabled clip. IMO the inspector should ignore disabled clips unless explicitly clicked on.

Similarly, when the "Timeline | Selection Follows Playhead" option is enabled, it will autoselect disabled clips. Again here I feel that this option should ignore disabled clips, requiring them to be explicitly selected by the user.

Cheers!

Sounds logical to me. Disabled clips should always be ignored.

I would agree with this idea.
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.
