HEIC support under Windows?

Hello,

I',m using Windows 10 with Davinci Resolve 15.2.1.005 and a iPhone. I've HEIC pictures on my PC and can open them with the standard fotos app.

Importing them into Davinci Resolve, I get a "Media Offline" warning.

I read that it does support HEIC (https://documents.blackmagicdesign.com/ ... _Guide.pdf).

Anyone else having this problems?

I have the same problem using DaVinci Resolve 16, all HEIC files show "Media Offline".

Under Windows 10, DR 15.3.1.003 Studio, HEIC samples from https://newsgroup.xnview.com/viewtopic.php?t=32568 are viewable. (The "collections" files only show up as one image though)
So it's either a Studio only feature or something's wrong with the way DR handles your files. Could you provide samples?

The feature comparison guide https://documents.blackmagicdesign.com/ ... 3288400000 has HEVC files supported by the Studio version and not the free version.

You might be able to use Handbrake to transcode your video into a format that DR will recognize. https://handbrake.fr/features.php

Hello again! I did some more google searches and found a changelog from Blackmagic stating that HEIC-support is implemented in the MacOS-version. But not for Windows (unless you have the studio-version).

So i solved the problem by download a 3rd party software to convert the files into .jpg (HEIC Converter Free).
