Watermark showing with update

I downloaded an update for v12.5 and after installing it, the viewport shows what I assume is a watermark with the words Davinci Studio plastered in it. I had the dongle installed.

I have uninstalled this and re-installed the original that came with the camera. The words do not appear in the viewport now.

Am I updating incorrectly or is this not a watermark? My method was to first uninstall Resolve and then dl and install the updated version.

I would've installed the update over the original. It just seems like an odd proposition to uninstall the licensed Resolve Studio -- which is married to that dongle.

Else, how will the update properly associate your Resolve Studio serial number, derived from the original software -- with your dongle and computer system?

As you have [hopefully] done, I'd delete the update and its components as best as I can, even with the added help from a software tool if necessary, then after installing and authenticating the original Resolve Studio, I'd proceed with the update install over the original, but only after reading and following the accomanying Installation Guide in the supplied text file.

Hope this helps. Kindly let us know what steps got you up and running.

Is it a second hand camera/dongle? Might not be an authentic dongle. See Resolve 15.2.1 Dongle not recognised anymore.

Sounds more like you downloaded the 15.2 free version instead of the Studio version.

No, that can't be the case, seeing he made it clear Davinci [Resolve] "Studio" shows up within the update's viewport.

I've never deinstalled before reinstalled a new version, but always did it on top of the app which was already here, with no problem (every version since v.9)...
Regardless to that, it more looks like you've installed the free version on top of the studio one...

Hello,

Your guesses are right. I was confused about the difference between the free and studio versions. I was mistakenly installing the free version.

I was told by BM to uninstall older versions, but to back up the database first. That is what I did and it worked.
