EXPORT 6 Mono .wav files from timeline

In Resolve 15 I have a timeline with 6 mono tracks.
Each track has a single mono file. I've edited, cut, joined tracks.
I want to export the 6 separate mono files. I have only been able to export a single file. Is there any way to have Resole exporting 6 mono wavs of each track?
Even using Fairlight would be fine, just please let me know how to.
Thanks in advance

Facing a similar problem a bit complicated than your one.
I have a 6 track interleaved 5.1 sound. Would like to render out each track as separate mono outputs. I am not not able to delink the 5.1 tracks.
In your case, the problem is relatively simple. Mute all audio tracks excepting only one and render out one track this way.

Why do you use this recommendation:
"Simply, check the checkbox
Render one track per channel checkbox on Deliver page/Render Settings/Audio.
If you’re exporting a single track, this checkbox lets you specify whether you want to export each channel as an individual track in the structure of the exported file."
or the procedure for
Commands For Bouncing Audio is listed in the manual on page 2454-5?

Did you try it or just repeat manual?
This option does nothing if you try to render wav. It's for other containers like MOV, etc where you get each channel rendered as separate track inside MOV. For wav it does nothing.

It's interesting ... I use it often. It works well with both containers - mov or wav, it doesn't matter.

I just tried from simple stereo project and it did export normal 2.0 wav not 2x mono wavs.
This is from Resolve 15.1.1 on Mac.
Tried with 5.1 track and same effect.
It works fine with MOV container, but with wav it always exports single 6 channels wav.
When you have your 6 channels interleaved wav then use ffmpeg:
ffmpeg -i 6chwav.wav -filter_complex "channelsplit=channel_layout=5.1[FL][FR][FC][LFE][BL][BR]" -map "[FL]" /Users/front_left.wav -map "[FR]" /Users/front_right.wav -map "[FC]" /Users/front_center.wav -map "[LFE]" /Users/lfe.wav -map "[BL]" /Users/back_left.wav -map "[BR]" /Users/back_right.wav
just alter input/output path per your need. If your export has different channel order than L,R,C, Lfe, Ls, Rs then alter it in channel layout part of the command.

I export .wav with embedded 5.1 channels in DaVinci Resolve 12.2.2 .

Yes, but we want 6x mono files for each channel , not single wav.

6x mono files for each channel works fine in DaVinci, as we have written before.

Sorry, but you don't understand what we're trying to achieve.
We want Resolve to create 6x wav files (one for each channel) on export, not a single wav with many channels inside. Do you understand this?
We want something like this: export_1.wav, export_2.wav.....export_6.wav and each wav to have single channel out of 5.1 stream.

This is very manual by sound of it (or does it create 6 exports by itself)?
I just want to have normal 5.1 track and in export tab hit render as mono channels and get 6x mono wavs.

This option would be useful, but now it is not possible, so I describe how to achieve the same result now.
I think someone needed help or just gave a tip how to improve the application?

I see, 15.1.1. I am on 15.2.2 and this method doesn't work. That's where the confusion is!

And that's the reason your page number and mine differ.
Right now, trying all routes I don't find any option to render out 6 separate audio .wav tracks from an interleaved 5.1 soundtrack. Also we can't tweak any track separately. This is possible in stereo, not in 5.1 interleaved. Unlink tracks don't work, changing from "clip attributes" doesn't work, bouncing doesn't, render separately each track results in a 5.1 interleaved audio again (probably because Resolve sees that 5.1 track as a single track).
Right now, this is a drawback and I have to address it by going to another NLE/ sound post facility to render out the 6 tracks separately.
Hope Resolve solves this in it's future update.

As outlined in your other thread:
viewtopic.php?f=21&t=84893Specifying the Audio Track Type as Mono in the New Timeline Settings, will automatically create 6 Mono Tracks on the Timeline from a 5.1 Interleaved Audio file, dragged on to the Timeline from the Media Pool.

Well, well, well.
Why isn't this happening to me? Is is because my audio file is linked to a video also? (It's a DCP file).
Will check again. But looks like you have given me the lead. Thanks a ton!

Unfortunately, your method doesn't work. Are you sure your 7.2 channels are interleaved? I feel it's 7.2 channels with separate audio waves contained in one folder.
That works for me too.

For the records I've tried with 15.2.2, I had chosen to render one track per channel and it does create a single file with 6 channels in it, but not the 6 separate files I want.
I'll read carefully the topic again and will retry with settings you suggested.

I had forgotten Windows won't allow a Wav file larger than 4GB, even creating a multichannel wav with the 6 channels in it, it will stop at 4GB size. Considering 1h40min movie is about 1GB per wav channel @ 24bit 48kHz, it means a whole soundtrack for such a movie is about 6GB, and gets cut as multichannel wav. I think the solution in post by Andrew Kolakowski which created a multichannel wav 5.1 and then separates with FFMPEG would be great, but it doesn't work on windows. I circumvented the issue by creating 6 projects each one with a single mono track and exporting 6 times. This is the longest but most reliable way (more than 6hrs export time because it takes about 1h10min per project to export).

Nothing to do with Windows, but wav format itself:
https://samplerateconverter.com/educati ... -rf64-mbwfMany tools support wav64 which has no such an issue.
If you want yo use my ffmpeg command simply export your audio to MOV (audio only), not wav and all will work. Just remember
not to tick "Render one track per channel" in this case as we want 5.1 as a single track, so ffmepg can split it.

You are right. I tried various methods, but it's impossible to render out single tracks. No method works.
It's simple in Protools, in other NLEs, but not in DR.
So my workaround is like this. Render out 5.1 from Resolve. Take the 5.1 interleaved wave to Audition/ Protools/ FCP and render out separate tracks from there.
I so wish Fairlight had this option. Also rendering out OMF is urgently required.
Fairlight's AAF works for Protools 12+, but many studios still run on Protools lower versions, where this AAF method will not work. OMF can solve the problem.

Hi Krishna Pada,
did you succed in creating 6 mono tracks in your timeline from the 5.1 material?
We had the same problem here with 5.1 tracks, when we split them to mono tracks on import it works...
Best,
Julius

in order to have 6 separate mono files you have to select Audio only and Wave as you output and then check both "Render one track per channel" and "Render as discrete audio tracks"
and then you have 6 mono with selected name and A01, A02 ... A06 postfix,
cheers
