After updating to 15.2.3 in ACES Project, the visuals are washed out and forced to back to 15.2.2.

Reporting bug report.

Running on Mac Mojave 10.14.2 in iMacPro base model.

I had a similar problem when I updated to 15.2.2.
Found out that Cache was creating the problem.
After upgrading to 15.2.3 clear all your cache, then create the cache again.
My problem was solved this way.

Need more details. What IDT/ODT are you using?

After updating to 15.2.3 in ACES Project, the visuals are washed out

seeing the same thing here,
ACEScct / no IDT - r3d source / 709 ODT
w10 / 15.2.3
no caches used

the still shows what the shot should look like / did look like in 15.2.2 , the viewer shows what the same shot in the same version of the same project looks like in 15.2.3;

more notes from my end - the project was last saved on Jan 7, 2018, last opened on Jan 11, 2019, it's a feature that's back for revised VFX and opening title seq

i made a two mistakes in my notes last night;

mistake # 1;
- i opened it on a 15.2.1 machine on the 11th, not a 15.2.2 as i thought earlier, and at that point it was correct, i rolled out some VFX plates and a screener, i checked them this morning and they are accurate
- this morning i opened it on a 15.2.2 machine and see the same issues as 15.2.3

mistake #2;
- i ran out a flatpass to DNxHR444 when the show was archived a bit more than a year ago, and transfered grades to that, so it was mostly DNxHR444 sources, not r3d's as i first thought

What i'm seeing on both a 15.2.2 and 15.2.3 machine is;
- the remaining r3d's ARE correctly interpreted
- the DNxHR444 media is not
the IDT i used for the DNx was rec2020, so i think my ODT when i rolled out the flat pass would have been 2020, no clear memory, and it seems a bit of an odd choice for me to have used 2020 for this, so i'll check the more likely IDT and see if i got something wrong there
- but in any case the exports were correct on Jan 11 in a v15.2.1 machine

end game it may not be a Resolve issue, and may be something i did incorrectly, i need to look at some likely settings for the IDT, or dig into my archives to find the project that was exported and check the ODT settings

i know there's been discussion on ACES central about a sidecar metadata format, would be very handy to have that today...

i don't have a machine on 15.2.1 anymore, leapfroging the 15.2.1 up to 15.2.3 to test, but could roll back my testbed machine easly

I can confirm this bug on version 15.2.3 and 15.2.4 on both Windows and Linux.
Just try adding sequence on top of another with some transparency or a fusion title on top of a sequence.
It looks pixelated and distorted as well as way too bright.

Had to go back to 15.2.2 to finish a big feature movie.
Please fix this issue.
Nice - the downgrade let fonts inside Fusion disappear... :roll:

The attachment with_title_plus.jpg is no longer available

Looks like that in version 15.2.3 and 15.2.4 - oldschool title effect isn't affected.
Also when having to images on top of each other with transparency, these images appear too bright and halation appears on hard edges.
In 15.2.2 everything is smooth without pixelation and haloing and has the correct brightness.

In 15.2.2 I only had the fusion text alpha issue when the layer below had any type of temporal noise reduction (either native or Neat Video) on. This issue appears on Windows and Linux.

never exported it lol
But it's still a bug when it's appearing like that in the viewer and needs to be addressed since it's making it way harder to work.

Already went back to 15.2.2 on my machines.

and the funky font thang kinda freaks out the clients....

i work in ACES, but package in display refered, usualy another software due to the ongoing seeming unsolveable audio trainwreck post 12.5.... would be nice to see simple and reliable track routeing back in the Ui

but i digress

back on ACES.... i've also rolled back front line machines to 15.2.2, but have one backup/packgeing machine on 15.2.4 to test

Really hoping we see these issues with colormanagement or ACES and alpha channels fixed soon. Cannot upgrade upgrade since I rely on using IPP2 or ACES workflows.

Maybe you can provide some detail as to the issue you see as v19 supports ACES 1.3, the latest and from your post we couldn’t guess your system, the configuration, clip used, ACES mode, OS, etc.
