DaVinci Resolve Studio 15.3 wants a serial number

Hi,
I've been using my dongle since the version 12.3, and today everything changed. After installing the 15.3 I see a welcome screen graciously asking me to enter a serial number. What am i missing?

I expect you have a counterfeit dongle.
Suggest you try to search for 'Fake Dongle' in this forum.

That would be a good expectation at 15.2 when fake dongles stopped working. Thank you for taking time to respond though

They probably blacklist more dongles with every release.

If your dongle was purchased second hand and you do not have the original packaging with the product serial number and proof of purchase, and it stops working when you update, it's pretty likely you have a counterfeit dongle.

We recommend purchase from authorized BMD resellers and the benefits of the Activation key where you can have two machines activated at the same time, i.e. Desktop and Laptop.
