4.6K footage not looking right at 1080p

PostSun Mar 17, 2019 1:44 am

I'm a recent convert to Resolve for editing due to Premiere not supporting BRAW, so I'm probably missing something very simple here.

I've been editing a project shot at 4.6K BRAW in a HD Resolve project as it will be going out at 1080p. I'm noticing that the image quality at HD is quiet pixelated, not what you'd expect from 4.6K downscaled. As a test I've started a new project set at 4.6K, then imported some clips into media pool and rendered them at HD. The results were much better, exactly what you'd expect to see.

Is there a reason that when all footage was brought in to a HD project that it wasn't scaled at the highest setting? Is there any way now for me to fix this problem now that I'm pretty far into this edit?

Appreciate any help with this.

Cheers!

No suggestions?

If I was to start a new 4.6K project and import the old one, would XML be best?

Any help would be most appreciated!
