Can I record video with Resolve? (FaceTime camera MacBook)

I would want to know if this is possible. Didn't find a clear answer on this yet.

I have the MacBook 15" Retina Mid 2012.

I am also trying to figure out right now what it's resolution and FPS is of my FaceTime camera, so maybe if you guys also have an answer regarding that, i would like to know.

Why do you need Resolve to do the recording and not just use any app? I don't think it records from something not a decklink card.

If you need a good Webcam, use your phone. You can use NDI to connect it as a video device or use Filmic Pro, scrcpy and OBS. If you have an iPhone there are even better and simpler solutions.

I imagine it being really useful in certain situations. A lot of them. Just as recording audio directly on the timeline is useful. (Which seems possible too in Resolve. I did it myself only in Premiere before). Seems like Resolve Live is for this, right?

No, but you can use it with any capture app and then import it into Resolve.

Allright, thanks. And 'deckline' and 'BMD I/O' is something primarily Blackmagic? (Meaning: (only) in Camera's of Blackmagic?)

Ideally, you want a BMD I/O device with an SDI input. Either a DeckLink PCIe card, or an UltraStudio Thunderbolt device.

Resolve does not directly support devices with an HDMI input, but you can force that in the Desktop Video GUI app, and it should get through to Resolve.

No Resolve doesn't have this feature. You'll have to use a dedicated screen recorder with cam record option.
