How to create a stereo track from two separate mono tracks

I've read the user's manual on Fairlight, I couldn't find anything about it.

So I have 2 tracks from sound board and I need to create a single stereo track from those two. How do I do that?

1. In the top track (let's say it's Track 1), right click the track header and change the track type to stereo.
2. In the top track you will now see two channels, with one of them occupied by the clip in that track.
3. Right-click that clip and choose clip attributes
4. In clip attributes change the Format to stero and then click on Embedded Channel 2 and choose the clip that's in the other mono track that you want to add (e.g., if Track 1 is Mix Left, and Track 2 is Mix Right choose Mix Right as your embedded channel 2).

That will bring a copy of the clip from Track 2 into your stereo track. You can either delete Track 2 or disable the clip (disable by typing D) and hide it.

That's the solution if you want to still be able to edit those channels independently of each other, but if you just want a single stereo track instead of grouped mono tracks try the other technique I outlined above.

No, I don't need them independently as they are just the left and right channels from sound board.

Just tried to replicate this and create a stereo track out of 2 mono tracks.
At step 4, when selecting the embedded channel, the only choice I get is "embedded channel 1" or mute. Other channels are not showing up there at all, so how can I select the 2nd mono track?

I saw a couple other forum posts about this topic but didn't get further there as well.

I have the same problem. Step 4 is not possible to do. Is this actually possible somehow?

Brad's directions will not actually achieve the aim originally asked for. There is no way to make a stereo clip out of two mono clips in Resolve. You can link the two clips so they behave as one, but they're still require two separate tracks.

The only way to actually get both files onto one track is to export out a new stereo file.

Ok, thanks. What if you do a compound clip. Can that be treated as a stereo clip?
I think what I will do is to export the mono to stereo clips. I guess either in Resolve, or maybe I will just do it in Nuendo instead. That would be easier to work with right?

I don't have significant experience with Compound Clips. I couldn't answer those questions.

Once linked, two mono's won't be any more difficult to work with, I think. Editor's choice, really.

Ok, that is good to know. Sadly I'm the editor now and I'm not that experienced with organizing larger projects!
