Resolve 16 Studio won't start at all

Hey there. I have used the program in the past but was unable to run it due to my bad pc. since i just updated my computer, I figured I should reinstall it to continue learning it. But for some reason, my PC won't open the program. I've tried reinstalling it, running as administrator etc. Here are my logs as well. Thanks

PS. Here are my PC specs.
Cpu: Amd Ryzen 5 5600 X
GPU: Radeon RX 6750 XT
Ram: 16 GB

Not really what we need. This is what we need:

In a File Explorer window, go to:

C:\Program Files\Blackmagic Design\DaVinci Resolve

and run CaptureLogs

This will place a Resolve log file named similar to this on your Windows desktop: DaVinci-Resolve-logs-20181228_140434.zip (You may not see the .zip extension if your system is set to hide known extensions).

Then open Windows System Information and do a File - Save (Not a File Export), which will generate a .NFO file.

Place both those files on a file sharing site and provide links to the files here. Make sure the links don't require access credentials.

If you are a new Forum user, you may not be allowed to post URLs. If this happens, just put a space near the front of the URL, so the system doesn't think it's a URL.

I have recently noticed that Davinchi Resolve won't open. I have tried many ways, but it wouldn't work, so I came here. I need help ASAP. PC specs: i7 6700HQ, windows 10, R9 m375, 16gb ram.

Something seems odd, because all the files in the diagnostics log you sent are from June of 2021.

Perhaps follow the guidance below, and see if anything different comes out. We definitely do also need the Windows System Information .NFO file.

It looks like Resolve was working to some extent when you had the AMD Enterprise 21.Q2.1 driver installed.

But now you have the AMD Adrenalin 20.7.2 driver installed, and Resolve startup is failing at the GPU detect stage. Because that driver is way too old.

Unfortunately, AMD has moved your R9 M375 GPU to legacy driver support, and has no current drivers available for it. And that could be a show stopper for Resolve 18.

The most current Adrenalin driver available is 22.6.1. That's much newer than the 20.7.2 driver you currently have installed. So give that a try, and see if that helps. But that's still a 2022 driver, so not sure if it will work or not.

I would also mention that the M375 GPU only has 3GB of VRAM available. So even if it works, it won't be good for anything but simple HD resolution timelines.

It says I already have 22.6.1 installed. I did try to disable the Intel HD graphics 530 in device manager, and now Davinci Resolve opens, but it stops responding on the splash screen when loading Fairlight Engine. Do you know how to fix it?

Wasn't it sometimes offered with 4 GB VRAM, Dwaine? Anyway, still only good for HD.

So, as I already wrote, it's pretty outdated. If you can't afford upgrading your hardware, why not try an older version of DR? They are all available on the support page. I found 17.4.6 stable as a rock on ageing hardware.

Davicni Resolve is still not responding on splash screen even after 17.4.6.

Hi everyone!

I'm Andrew and I've been using Davinci Resolve for a couple months now. Everythings was great and worked amazing for my editing.

The problem comes when suddenly Davinci begins to lag out of nowhere, crashes, wouldn't let me drop media from my folders... It came to a point where I just couldn't open it. Right now I can open it, but it's laggy and just won't let me work as I would before.

I updated my drivers for AMD and Windows, I checked my anti-virus for viruses, I unplugged all my periferals, I tried using only one monitor, I watched dozens of videos on the matter and I just can't find the solution.

I come with the hope the someone can help me. Thanks!!

Googling shows other apps also crashing due to this dll.

Hey I'm back. I couldn't get back due to work but let's see this. So I updated my AMD Drivers and... It got just a little better but I still can't drop media from a folder, I can't even make cuts without it crashing and lagging... I checked for the latest windows update and instaled it too. But it doesn't work.

I just don't understand it, Davinci worked perfectly fine until a couple weeks ago :'(

I've just done a test with Resolve Studio 18.6 on a Win10 system with an AMD RX6600XT and the 23.9.3 driver and it's working as expected.

Unfortunately, your log files have no rolling logs earlier than 9-23, so there is nothing to compare to see what might have changed from when it was earlier working.

I don't see any new Resolve errors in the new NFO you sent.

I don't see any obvious errors in the new logs.

Please send a link to a project export .drp you are having issues with, along with a screen recording showing the issues.
