Hello!
I have a mini mac software version 10.8.3
2,3 Ghz Intel Core i7
RAM 16 Gb
Graphics Intel HD 4000 768 MB
Gives me an error.
Requests to update the driver. I put the newest CUDA NVIDIA 5.0.61.
Still gives the error.
Please tell me what can I do?

Resolve won't run on that machine as the GPU is not supported by Resolve. You need a GPU that can do CUDA processing like a GeForce GTX card.

Mac minis are not supported nor are any Mac running Intel HD integrated GPUs (HD3000/HD4000).

Resolve also runs on some Macs with ATI cards.

If you want to run Resolve on Mac OS your best bet is a current Mac Pro, a new iMac, MacBook Pro Retina or wait for the New Mac Pro.

Alternatively you could look at building a Hackintosh: http://www.adamroberts.net/blog/davinci ... sh-part-1/

Hey Adam,

I literally just saw this post by someone called @theyounghenry on Twitter:

I can finally use @BlackmagicUser Davinci Resolve, thanks to Apple adding OpenCL support to @Intel HD4000 graphics cards. Thank you.

Does this mean a Mac Mini could in theory now be supported? Is this something Blackmagic could potentially enable in future?

Thanks

Ah ok, so it transpires that this is a feature of Mavericks. Bring it on!

Resolve requires serious GPU processing. All the work is done by the GPUs. The HD4000 is part of the Intel CPU. its designed for driving a display and not really designed for the kind image processing work required by Resolve.

While it might "work" under Maverick I doubt it would be very useable.

I have same question, but for the Intel HD 5000, which is in the new Macbook Air..

Resolve does not currently work on systems with only Intel HD graphics.

I'd read that Mavericks would allow me to use the Intel HD Graphics 3000 card on my MacBook Air and similarly the ATI Radeon HD 4870 on my 2009 Mac Pro but I'm getting the same message as was shown at the beginning of this topic on both computers. I'm running Davinci Resolve Lite 10 Beta 3.

Thanks for the help.

Nick

I'd be really interested if Resolve would work on the new Intel Iris Pro graphics in the retina macbook pro. Apparently the Iris Pro whilst being worse for gaming is much better than the low-mid range nvidia cards for compute.

Why Edius work OK with Intel HD 4000, but Davnci not?
