Different formats for editing
Posted: Tue May 07, 2019 8:35 amDoes the end result matter if I choose timeline 1920 x 1080 HD for editing files recorded in Ultra HD 3840 x 2160 and exporting to 3840 x 2160 Ultra HD?

Posted: Tue Nov 30, 2021 5:23 pmThe recommended practice is to perform as much work a possible at reduced timeline resolution. (Proxy mode 1/2 resolution doesn't really do what you might expect...)
Never change aspect ratio without expecting a disaster. Do 1080p to 4k is ok. 1080p to DCI 4k is bad.
I switch back forth between 1080p to 4k all the time, never had issues.
You may want to do keying at delivery resolution(4k).

Posted: Wed Dec 01, 2021 2:16 amIMHO, to keep naming clearly separated, 4K should be attributed to DCI, while 16:9 TV is UHD (or HD).
