install blocked by old installation

I had the old 15 and new 16 studio versions installed all working ok till 16 crashed. then it refused to restart and said to uninstall. when I did that everything went and nothing will reinstall of either studio versions.
all i get is a message saying a newer version is installed but there is nothing installed. I assume there is something left in the registry but I cant find it. Help please.

What I would suggest, if you are in a scenario where Resolve won't install, is to use the Windows Control Panel - Programs and Features panel to remove Resolve. If you don't see Resolve in that list, and it won't install, then run regedit and go to:

Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Blackmagic Design\DaVinci Resolve

In the right hand window, double click Version, and in the Edit String window that opens, delete the existing Value Data, and click OK. Then exit regedit.

Now run the Resolve installer, and it should install Resolve.

Whichever version you want. Shouldn't matter.

Well sorry to say that did not help, there is no resolve shown only panels ?
