Premiere Pro Keyboard Layout for DaVinci

Hey there,

Premiere Pro user here, due to project circumstances we are editing in DaVinci Resolve for a client. We saw that many people have been having issues with the Premiere Pro keyboard layout not being as faithful to the original Premiere keyboard. I am hoping and wondering if anybody has fully customized their keyboard to match the premiere keyboard in DaVinci, and would you be willing to export your preset and share it here.

We could manually do it but was hoping someone already made leg room on this. We have a deadline coming up so that is why I am coming here asking for this request. I understand it may not be perfect but a jump start would be nice. Appreciate the help. Excited to dive into DaVinci Resolve and check it out as an NLE.

I'm having the exact same issue, it's insane how different the "Premiere preset" is to actual Premiere's keyboard set up. It's all such a slow process since a lot of things are titled ever so slightly different so searching for the tool you're looking for in the keyboard customization panel doesn't always work . If anyone has already gone through this process, they'd be saving many lives I'd imagine!

In DaVinci Resolve top menu, left: DaVinci Resolve -> Keyboard Customization. A new popup window will open. On the top menu of that window, on the left it says: “Keyboard Customization” and on the right whatever mapping you chose in the past, or the default which is “DaVinci Resolve”. To the right of the keyboard mapping name there is a down pointing arrow, click it and drop down list will open; choose “Adobe Premiere Pro”. You can always choose one of those presets, or write you own preset.

The complaint here is that BMD has not accurately represented the Premiere Pro shortcuts in that preset. I'd say they got more than half of them wrong.

I would be curious to read what Blackmagic has to say about this.

If you have a preset list that you think more accurately reflects the layout please export that from Resolve and post it here. In the meantime we are focused on v16 bugs.

Below is my custom Premiere preset. For some reason you cannot upload a .txt file in the forum, so you will need to copy/paste the text into TextEdit and save as .txt for import into Resolve. It's not perfect, but it's a start. If you're able to customize it further, please respond with your updated preset. [NOTE: These presets were made on a Mac]

Just out of curiosity. can the BMD keyboard be customized with these keyboards to use in resolve and can that keyboard be used with any NLE?
