playback fine for a while then drops to 4 -5 fps

PostWed May 22, 2019 10:12 am

has been doing it on all 3 beta's.

and with nVidia drivers 419.67, 425.31

plays fine, edits fine but then maybe after 15 mins it suddenly drops to 4 or 5 fps. Audio generally carries on playing fine but vid will play a few frames, stop, play a few frames, stop. Even with all grading turned off.

Files are a mix of gh5 and eva1 MOV mp4 150 Mb/s. Haven't seen this with any previous versions, and have edited a ton of gh5 and eva1 files without issue.

when it happens GPU load is low, Vram use is midrange, CPU sits about the same as when its playing fine.

I can't work out what is causing it to suddenly slow right down as I haven't seen any system resources change .

figured I'd ask here in case anyone else has seen something similar.

I haven't seen this with my own GH4 footage MP4 files.

I'm using an older GTX 960 (4GB VRAM) with driver 430.64.
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.
