Audio issue when exporting file with multiple audiotracks

PostFri Jun 28, 2019 9:23 am

(Not sure if this is new to DR16b4 but I do consider it a bug)

The version:
16.0.0B033

The goal:
To export a video file (preferably DNxHR) with multiple audio tracks.
Track 1 (2channels) Main mix.
Track 2 (1 channel) Dialogue Sub
Track 3 (2 channels) Mix minus dialogue.

The result:
Channels 1 and 2 of the exported video sound good.
Channels 3, 4 and 5 have "choppy" audio. But only in the areas with a signal.
As soon as the audio is silent, the interference is gone. The louder the signal, the more intense the choppiness.

I encounter this issue:
* No matter the codec
* No matter the wrapper
* No matter the bitdepth
* In multiple projects.
* No matter the order in which I patch the audio busses. (always 1 and 2 that sound good)
* Despite the mains and busses sounding clean in Fairlight before export.

Also, I can hear the effect in other players (VLC) when I playback the rendered file.
System:
Windows 10 Pro 64-bit (version 20H2 O.S. build 19042.685)
Gigabyte Technology Co. Z390 DESIGNARE.
Intel Core i9-9900K @3.6GHz
32GB Ram
GeForce RTX 2080 Ti

Have you tried a stereo Track 2?
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.

I also noticed similar issues with audio after render. Just random approx. 0.2 second long silence pieces every 15-20 seconds. Not sure we're talking about the same thing though.

In beta3 everything was ok.

Unfortunately, that makes no difference.
But, Thanks.

I'll post a workaround for people with the same problem that want to move along.

When I bounce all the mixes to new tracks, and then create a new timeline with those new tracks as "Timeline tracks" 1-5. I can export the video and embed all 5 timeline tracks.
No problems. (Accept for the extra work)

Just tried the same thing in Beta5.

Seems a lot better, but in loud parts, there is still choppiness.
