16b4-BMPCC 4K ProRes no Render in Resolve but Edius

PostMon Jul 01, 2019 2:03 pm

Bought a BMPCC 4K. One of the Codecs is ProRes but there is no ProRes Support in DaVinci Resolve Studio 16b4.
That is odd !

But there is ProRes Rendering Support in Edius WG 9.40.
It is functioning with the clips from BMPCC 4K.

As discussed many times here, Prores as an export format is not available in Windows applications, unless the developer buys a license from Adobe. Edius now does offer that support, but as you've discovered, Resolve doesn't.

Anyway, there are other choices you can use in Resolve/Windows, including Cineform and DNxHR. You can also use Media Manager to trim Prores files, if that's of any use.

Resolve for Windows supports ProRes files for editing just fine. If that's your issue, something is definitely wrong.
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.
