Hello.
I like the 'official' way that DaVinci Resolve offers to record voiceovers.
However, it would be useful to have simple keyboard shortcuts for record and for backup and re-record commands.

I looked through the manual using the PDF search and found no mentioning of keyboard shortcut for the record button in Fairlight.

Is there such shortcut?

I don't record voiceovers the way DaVinci programmers insist that I do.

I have been asking for this feature for years. Best thing you can do is email them and make an official request

I also asked for a keyboard shortcut and audio recording from mark in to out.

What keys would you prefer, mine would be

on numeric keypad:

record and drop-in / drop-out *
start play ENTER
stop play 0
stop and return to last start position 0 (pressed twice)

rewind (follower zoom resolution speed) -
fast-forward (follower zoom resolution speed) +

yes it is. My head was in DAW mode

Can we please have this feature. Resolve is great for audio editing, but the lack of a record key is very frustrating.

Yes, it seems crazy these features are missing. Especially recording a range quickly and easily, you can play a range so simply, why not record?

While you are at it, record with Pre and Post roll options also. I know the ADR setup can do this, but I don't record VO or Narration that way

Assign a custom keybinding via the Keyboard Customisation window.

The Fairlight Audio Editor provides more advanced Record functionality in the Record megamode, including Pre-rolls.

The Resolve 16 Manual (August 2020) provides more details:

Thanks Reynaud, I finally got to go digging through the manual and read about the goodies in the audio editor. It equally makes me want to own one, and also want access to all the functionality it provides without owning it.
