Tilt-Shift Blur Not Tracking

PostThu Jul 04, 2019 1:52 am

DAVINCI RESOLVE
VERSION: 15.2.0.033

I have an FX point tracker tracking a point, and I can 'attach' a lense flare (for example) and the lense flare moves around following the tracking point as it should.

But if I use the tilt-shift blur it does not properly work. The little grabber positioning tool for the tilt-shift blur follows the point tracker perfectly, but, the actual tilt-shift blur effect does not move.

What am I doing wrong?

Does anyone mind trying it to see if the issue is only on my end? I've tried literally everything I can possibly think of to troubleshoot this. I am going nuts trying to fix this.

Go to Color tab
Add 'tilt-shift blur' node, and select it
Tracker window, switch to 'fx'
Point Track a moving point in the scene

Then please tell me if the actual blur effect moves, or if only the tilt-blur fx's positioner tool moves. I usually set to high blur so you can clearly see the difference, as with low blurs sometimes it looks like it's moving but it's just your eyes playing tricks ..

I confirm in my test video
It is a bug I guess:

Might not be a bug. Tilt-Shift is an effect typically applied to the entire frame and remains static for the duration of the clip.
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.

If so,
- why the feature to track that FX exists ?
- It is called "flou de maquette" in French, that can be translated to "model's blur".
I have to track when camera moves to keep the fx of a small world.

This is about the same as saying focus is adjusted before pressing rec and is kept at same distance during whole take. I think there are lots of people furiously violating this universal rule, as there are people violating or wishing to violate the static tilt-shift.

Tracking is a separate node, though. Might not mix with all others.

I'm really just speculating here. I could be off and it really is a bug.

Same problem. Still actual. Resolve 17.4. Can somebody of Blackmagic comment on this?

There are no sense the Tilt-shift effect to be totally static. Especially due to the fact the grabber positioning tool already following the tracker. It's clearly looks like a bug.
