Is there a way to click in a thumbnail in the media pool and playback clips? Or, am I only limited to scrubbing?
Playback with thumbnail view?

Double clicking the thumbnail will put the clip into the preview window where you can play it and mark your ins and outs. You can then drag the clip from the preview window to the timeline.

If you're on the Media page, a single click on a clip will load it into the Viewer. You can set In/Out point from there.

Exectly in thumbnail - no you cant.
Only in viewer.

Playback is displayed in the viewer. Thumbnail or list status of the media pool is not relevant.
