BUG: Existing flags deleted when adding new flag to batch

PostFri Aug 02, 2019 2:11 pm

Adding a new flag to a batch of clips deletes existing flags. It should add the new flags without deleting the existing ones OR there should be an option to add or replace.

I'm not seeing that here in Studio 16b7 for Windows. New flags get added, they don't replace.

I selected about 50 clips, some of which had one or more different flags already added to them. I selected a different flag to the ones already added and hit save. It took a few minutes. But after control of the app returned the pre-existing flags were deleted.

I only tried it on two clips. Each had a unique flag color when I added a new flag. There was no option to Save, though. I simply selected the new flag color and they got added.

The save button is at the bottom of the metadata panel. It usually appears when more than one clip is selected and a flag is chosen.

I didn't use the Metadata panel. I just right clicked and added the new flag.

The Metadata panel is like a global override for Flags when selecting multiple clips. You will need to add extra flags on multiple clips using the right-click menu. I like to create keyboard shortcuts to make this faster.

The reason I attempted to add additional flags to a batch of clips with the metadata panel is because it does it correctly with a single clip. That it doesn't do it the same way with multiple clips is a consistency problem.

Thanks for the heads up of the doing it correctly with the right click method.
