Question on registering Davinci Resolve Studio

PostMon Aug 05, 2019 8:18 am

I purchased Davinci Resolve Studio a few days back and just wanted to check with people on whether I should have received any confirmatory emails. I entered my details on the website with my key, but never received anything, I could still download the product and get up and running but would have expected some sort of email to confirm the product being registered to my account or something?

Thanks
Dan

no, there is no formal email reply from the BMD web site.. once you activate the license with the key the license server authenticates and Resolve Studio will run.. all good.

I bought a second license for DaVinci Resolve 16 new and unused and not registered. For safety purposes I installed it on my older MacBook Pro and still have one more activation left. My question is since I am going to buy a new iMac in the spring as well as a new MacBook for the road how do I transfer the existing copy to my new computer? I already have a dongle version running in my edit suite and did not want to risk taking the dongle on the road which is why I bought a second license.
Thanks
Brian

DaVinci Resolve FAQ

Just install and activate. You can deactivate on the computer you will no longer use, but you don't have to (you need to activate the others again if you don't).

Thanks Roger,
Not sure I understand how to de-activate but it appears you are saying if I use one of the activation keys on another computer when both are "activated" one of them will need to be chosen to be deactivated.
Thanks for taking the time to post for me! Just found the deactivate answer.
Cheers

Normally, the oldest activation of three will be deactivated auto(black)magically.
But sometimes this goes wrong, so better deactivate by yourself, it's in the "Help" menu.
My disaster protection: export a .drp file to a physically separated storage regularly.
