Need a Stabilizer OFX as Node

PostTue Aug 13, 2019 12:23 pm

It will be good to have a Stabilizer OFX plugin that I can put as node. Sometime, we need to place the Stabilizer at a specific level to fix some problem with sources. A good example to use it is when I fix a dead pixel, I could use the Stabilizer OFX node just after the Dead Pixel OFX Node. The shot can now be stabilized with dead pixel fixed. For now, when I fix dead pixel and place a Stabilizer OFX in Edit page, my dead pixel correction move. Not good at all !

You can use Compound Clips for this.

Compound Clips aren't an option in my case...
When you convert a clip into compound one, all the video transitions around this clip are lost. When you trying to add them again, Resolve says that this clip has insufficient handles to apply the transition:

TRy this:
1,duplicate your clip, and drag it to full length, then compund it, and delete it from timeline.
2,seletet your compound clip in media pool, and right click your clip in timeline, conform lock with media pool clip.

ok, done.

I haven't tried this, but my wont is to do all effects in Fusion, both Dead Pixel and Stabilize. That might give you the control you're looking for.
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.

Interesting. But sometimes it doesn't work... This Compound clip looses start/end points of the original clip somehow... I couldn't figure out why. But sometimes it works properly.

Anyway, it just a workaround. I don't want to use Compound clips. There some drawbacks. For example, to fix dead pixels you have to use "Nearest" retime method for the original clip. And then, if you set Optical Flow to the Compoiund clip, it will be very laggy. Video won't be that smooth.
