Project Backups in Collaboration Mode not working

Is it true that "project backups" under "Project Save and Load" still don't work in collaboration mode? I find that incredible, especially as the "export project" option in the project manager crashes resolve every single time on every workstation that we have. (Multiple Bug reports sent in). That leaves no other option than doing manual backups of the whole database. You can't be serious.
