Can't select / designate a track

PostWed Aug 21, 2019 1:34 pm

I have been trying to 'select/highlight all clips on a track', my Track 1, but I know that for this to work the 'V1' on the left has to be selected and have an orange box around it. I can't seem to do this for some reason. Clicking it does nothing, and nor does clicking any other V on any other track (V2, V3 etc.). However, I am still able to select and deselect audio tracks (A1, A2, etc.) where the orange box appears and dissapears just fine, and thus can 'select/highlight all audio clips on a track', just not video. Selecting/highlighting all clips on ALL tracks works for every track EXCEPT V1, the one I want to select.

I have never had this issue before and don't know why it has started now. I always used to select all clips on a track just fine without even realising the V1 / V2 etc. had to be highlighted.

I run 15.0.0B.057 on an Inspiron 15 7000 Gaming laptop

Many thanks,

Marcus

When this occurs, use the keyboard shortcut, alt-1 if I recall, to select video track 1.

That red outline works in relation to clips loaded into the Source Viewer.

No clips loaded, no red outline. (Nor need for it.)

To select all the clips on a track, zoom out to see the entire timeline, start from the back and drag the mouse selection across the track.
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.

"y" will not work unless a video track is selected as a destination track. Whether it's an actual destination for an actual clip in the source viewer is beside the point.

If you want to use the "y" function, you need a destination track.

I was stuck with this too. Alt+2 did the trick (alt+1 was acting up). Thanks for the suggestion.

I'm having this very same issue right now and alt+1/option+1 or any other number doesn't help.

I couldn't select the my video track / get the red outline either -> Must be some bug because when I dragged and drop a video clip on one of the tracklines the problem was suddenly solved and I could select V1, V2 etc properly.
