Red Render Line in Timeline

Is it possible to see which clips in the timeline are unrendered? Some online tutorials show a red line above the timeline which I believe shows unrendered clips? How do I set this timeline preference?

You'll get the red line when you enable smart or auto caching. But it will be replaced with a blue line as son as the frames are cached.
