No Audio output in Windows

I just upgraded to the latest release. When I playback any video or audio file in the timeline no audio is playing through my OS. The meters in Devince are indicating sound is passing through.

I did the following:

1. set the systems I/O to either manual and assigned both channels.
2. added an audio only file to the timeline.

any pointers would be helpful.

I have exactly the same problem. There's no sound either through the monitor (HDMI connection) or through the headphones (realtek).

I tried all sorts of configurations in the preferences, I tried changing the audio definitions of the monitor and realtek, there's no change.

I tried installing the older version of Resolve but the problem persists. I am currently working on a very old version of Premiere while I can't solve this.

Just a heads-up... I had all sorts of issues recently but they were all eventually traced back to the latest Windows 10 feature upgrade that was rolled out recently. In some cases it resets a lot of configuration settings back to defaults. I lost audio (had to go and reset my Resolve preferences to fix that) but even then it was distorted and the levels to my headphones were way too high. I finally fixed that but it also wiped my (Win10) monitor calibration data so I had to do that again as well.

It may be coincidental but perhaps it's related to the issues you're seeing.

Windows updates have been notorious for screwing with audio drivers.

The strange thing is that I can hear sound for .1 or .2 seconds when I play a clip right after opening Resolve.

The one thing to check after a Windows update is the audio sample rate. Control Panel - Sound - Playback - Properties - Advanced. Make sure it says 24 bit 48k. Updates often reset this to 44.1.

Thank, I had already tried them all.

I find it strange that I get 0.1 seconds of sound when I first play any sound anywhere on Resolve.

I need help, I have the same problem, I have tried all the possible settings. I recently accepted a windows 10 upgrade and now I am experiencing this loss of audio in resolve 16.1 b.033 ( just installed today ) I also tried to reinstall the previous davinci release, but without success. I hope that blackmagic people can suggest how to fix this problem.

Thanks to you all,
Now it works, but I could not say what actually was the solution, as I did not check the result of individual actions ( I could be considered an absolute beginner.) In the video and audio preferences, speaker configuration is set to manual, Main, altoparlanti, stereo, left and right output altoparlanti 1 and 2 respectively (my audio card speaks Italian)
According to suggestions sample rate was set to 24 bit, 48 k Hz.
I hope this can help someone else. Thank you again.
