XF script won't recognise a paint stroke

PostWed Jan 11, 2017 6:48 am

I'm trying to attach a polyline wire removal stroke to a tracker in Fusion 8.2 build 2, and it won't work!
Aeroplane in the background to paint out of a sky, tracked the plane then did a wire removal polyline multistroke, and ran into this brick wall...

If I right click on either the paint node in the flow, or the polyline stroke modifier in the modifiers tab, and try to run the 'Attach Mask - XF - Stroke to Path - Keep Position TOOL' script;
I keep getting this in the console- 'ERROR: This is not a Mask / Paint Stroke.'

If I attach the centre of the polyline to the trackers offset position, it works sort of, but you have to then find the paint stroke (usually way outside the image) and drag it back.

About the only non-standard thing involved is the source for the paint & tracker nodes- a custom tool out of a Syntheyes export for undistorting the footage, but the tracker seems to have no problem working from it, nor does the 3D camera etc. downstream of it, so I'd guess it's not the issue

The XF-etc. script is working fine for polymasks or whatever when I use it otherwise, but seems to be broken for paint strokes, anyone have any ideas or managed to fix this issue?

Cheers

Not sure I am on the right track but you could try putting a bitmap tool after the paint stroke, this may help it be recognised as a Mask.

Hi, I had recently a look at the script and made some minor changes and I think I was looking only for paint stroke and not other kinds of stroke/line types.

i posted the modified script here

i added support for XYPath and other stroke types (MultiStroke, CloneMultistroke and PolylineStroke)

this should now cover all types of masks, strokes and path types

have fun with it!
