Fusion Courseware?

I have an old courseware book / DVD I got with DFX+4 with Lightwave many years ago. Alas the flows are not compatible with the new '.comp' flow structure.

I have seen reference to Fusion 5 Courseware but all downloads were on the now defunct eyeon site.

Are there any plans to provide a download link to the courseware and booklet for 5/6/7 on the new fusion site? Failing that, does anyone know of an active link to the courseware elsewhere?

The courseware is an excellent training source so I would imagine I am not the only on who would benefit from it being made available once more.

Glad to see you coming back to Fusion.
The courseware would not be valid anymore as the tools and workflow are entirely new since 4.
That being said, there are a bunch of getting started type videos on our site, and most, if not all the eyeon based training videos should still be on YouTube

I googled for fusion courseware 2 and a torrent file pop up. I hope it doesn't violate any rules to download that since if I remember right it was free.

I couldn't find it either. It seems it's lost.
You can find most of the videos at the eyeonline youtube channel. I don't know if there are all.
The training section on the BMD webpage has some new videos also.

Blackmagic website is a great start for an introduction to all our tools and workflow.
It won't cover high-end techniques but will get you going for sure.

More tutorials are needed i would suggest, hopefully when i find time i will do some.

seach for Eyeon Fusion book you should come across a 3rd party series called The eyeon Fusion6.3 A tutorial approach.

I bought this about a year ago, so it is still available, and the differences between 6.3 and 7 are minimal. Comes with plenty of lessons, as well a download link for media.

Should get you pointing in the right direction.

I wouldn't say 'minimal' as there are hundreds of new features, but it is certainly fundamentally the same, as fusion 5.0 would be as well. Anything before that would be a completely different beast, not even backward compatible compositions.

For someone who is trying to learn how to use the program, they wont notice a difference. Many of the changes (except second screen use) will not come into play while they try to learn how to use a loader, saver and render node. 99 percent of the tools are called the same thing, and are in the same location. Yes some of them have some extra settings available, but most people learning the program aren't quite into deep compositing yet.

In the absence of anything better, "The eyeon Fusion6.3 A tutorial approach" 6.3, is the best value resource for the novice. Combined with the various videos out there you are on your way. It certainly could be improved by including foundation principles but by the end of the course you are pretty much ready to progress to the next level.

BTW, the publisher informs me that they are currently working on an update to version 7, but given 6.3 is substainally the same as 7.5 and you can get it for less than $20 (I got the Kindle for PC version on Amazon) there would seem no reason to wait if you are struggling to get up to speed.

I bought the kindle version of "The eyeon Fusion 6.3: A Tutorial Approach" for 13,30 Euro only.
The combination with the "old" eyeon Fusion Tuts at youtube and the great Tut from Vito is more than a good starting point. Vito will also develop more Tuts this year.
