Crash with Mocha Pro plugin

PostThu Mar 07, 2019 6:23 pm

I am finding that maybe 1 out of 10 times I open the Mocha Pro UI from within Fusion, both will crash. I don't know if the issue is with Fusion or with the plugin. I've sent some logs to BorisFX, and was wonder if there are some log files I can look into on the Fusion side.

This is Fusion Studio 9.0.2 (USB dongle), Mocha Pro 6.0.2, running on Mac OS 10.14.3.

Thanks,
David

Hmmm... I'm a hard Mocha worker and don't use it in its ofx version anymore (standalone import/export works so fine) but is it crashing before doing anything ? and on different OSes (because Mojave, huh, you know what I mean...)

Hey everyone,
I've just started using mocha and other BorisFX OFX plugins with fusion (standalon and resolve page) and found that they too would immediately crash fusion when I click the start "app" UI button.
In mocha, once I select the project bit depth, fusion will crash, followed be mocha crashing due to an error.
As for silhouette, it does seem to launch better but then fusion would freeze and crash.

Since it is now 2023, has there been a fix for this issue?
I'm currently running the latest builds of mocha, silhouette, and fusion studio.

It's an old topic but personnally I use Mocha OFX again in Fu studio and don't encounter issues

It has happened to me few times, and as far as I can tell it was related to running out of cache memory. There are many ways to manage cache so depending on how demanding the project is and how limited you are with your hardware you might explore various methods of managing cache to avoid potential stability issues. If its not cache I am not sure other than bug what could it be.
