Color Space Transform (CSt) Davinci 18.6.4 Build 6

PostFri Dec 08, 2023 9:10 am

Hi.
Can anyone explain where did "Use timeline" go from Input and Output Color Space drop down?
How can you now match color of composition from Fusion to Edit/Color page in HDR Managed workflow?

This issue started with version 17.4.1, where the Color Management page changed a lot. Now, you'll find the 'timeline color space' setting only under the 'custom' preset in project settings.

For matching colors between Fusion and Edit/Color pages in an HDR workflow, it's a bit complex. The "Timeline Color Space" option doesn't show up if you're using the Color Managed workflow with DaVinci YRGB Color Managed settings. This can be quite confusing and might be part of the reason you're experiencing issues.

This guide at https://dvresolve.com/tutorial/guide-to ... nt-fusion/ can help out. It covers how to fix these mismatches.

This is exactly what I'm watching. Color Managed HDR WG workflow fix is based on CSt nodes after and before media out node with various settings where some of them should be left at "Use timeline" for future proofing.

and this setting "Use Timeline" is not in the dropdown menu

Since ColorSpaceTransform is now "native" node and not a ResolveFX anymore it hasn't got "use timeline" in its menus

How then now is it possible to match brightness, saturation and color tone of what you see in fusion windows to graphics that actually ends up in the edit/color page?

Why i have constant feeling that right at the moment when i find the crutches that fixes basic issues there is done some update and change to software where old workarounds do not work issue still persists and new solutions are not provided.
This happens every once a quarter.. How can one professionally relay on this software?
