Selecting existing paint tool doesn't show any controls

PostSun Aug 30, 2015 6:12 am

Fusion version:

8 beta 1

OS and version:

OSX 10.9

Additional relevant system info:

Description of the bug:

When selecting an existing paint tool (after opening an existing comp created with Fusion 7), no stroke controls are visible. Instead "No object selected" is displayed. After going to the modifiers tab and selecting a paint or multi stroke, everything works fine.

Severity (Trivial, Minor, Major, Critical)

minor

Steps to reproduce:

Please, if possible, provide a Fusion setup to help demonstrate the behaviour, either as an attachment or between [code] tags:

Uh, did you ever find a fix for this. It is 2023 and looking at an unresolved issue from 2015....

In my case I am in Fusion, have a Paint Node, created an instance and have the same dialogue as originally posted here.

Yikes! Was working on an elaborate effect with a MaskPaint node... came back later (re-started Resolve 18.6 Studio), and I'm getting the same thing. Selecting the maskpaint node shows <No Object Selected>.

Paint and MaskPaint don't have any controls of their own; instead, they're just holders for a stack of Modifiers. If you activate a new painting mode using the in-viewer buttons (I don't have Fusion available to take screenshots, but they'll be the ones that appear when you select the tool), then that will create a new Modifier, and the controls will appear.

Or you can switch over to the Modifiers panel, and you'll see the existing Modifiers and can use one of those to continue your painting
