Quicktime saver and Rec. 2020

PostSun Jun 15, 2025 6:57 pm

I'm trying to do a proper HDR workflow in Fusion Studio. I don't think EXR sequences have any HDR metadata (at least MediaInfo doesn't show me anything), so I thought I'd try a Prores video instead. In the format tab, I have options for Primaries, Transfer and Matrix, all of which are set to Rec.709 by default. What confuses me is that Primaries and Matrix allow me to set Rec.2020 but Transfer does not:

I searched the manual but that's not in it. As far as I gather from an online search, SMPTE_240M is an old standard for analog TV, and I can't tell exactly what SMPTE_ST_428 is, but I can tell that the option for HDR should be SMPTE ST 2084 for HDR PQ.

Am I missing something?
