Martian Helmets

I saw on BM site video about workflow but it was not very detailed.

Do any of the users here know more about the details of workflow?

best is you just look at some basic 2d to stereo 3d conversion videos/tutorials. there are some technics around and they just used all of them: roto to create depth maps, tracked geometry for depth maps, ...

this is for nuke but is quiet good in explaining some of the technics behind conversion

ahh, okay. i thought i meant the video with prime focus talking about the stereo conversion with fusion

but for the work MPC did, here is a great article:

https://www.fxguide.com/featured/life-o ... e-martian/

they basicly rotoanimated a digital character, rebuilded the set, added the digital set and got so the right reflections on the helmets.
