Colour Management and Monitor Calibration

PostWed Apr 27, 2016 10:09 pm

Hi all

I calibrated my monitors with a ColorMunki and created a profile that Windows is using.

Do I need to tell Fusion to use the profile or does it already display my colours "correctly" because Windows is using the profile?

In 3dsMax with VRay for example, I have to explicitly tell VRay to use my monitor profile, because 3ds Max doesnt read or know about calibrated monitor profiles.

I'm working with 32bit Linear files (float16) so I already figured out I need to set my Fusion LUT's gaam to 2.2. Is that all I need to do or do I also somewhere have to tell Fusion to use the monitor profile?

The monitor calibration will be applied to Fusion's UI, yes. What the source of the color calibration is, I'm not sure, I suspect it's just sRGB, but you'd have to check the ColorMunki documentation.
