NUKE Tutorials (and After Effects) for fusion

PostWed Feb 08, 2017 8:38 pm

Hi guys,

some people had wrote in the forum that you can use pretty much apply NUKE tutorials (and maybe some After Effects) to fusion

My curiosity is how easy is it to follow? do the names and options in one software change to much? are there some tools that cannot be found in one software or another?

what is your experience on this topic?

Thanks you very very much. :)

If you know how to use Nuke and Fusion? Yes. If you only know one, well, that's a bit harder. If you don't know either, then I would think it wouldn't be worth it.

What Chad said. If you know the tools at least on the level of where to find something equivalent, you can carry it over. If you don't knw the tools it will be a lot harder because Nuke and Fusion are similar, but there are areas which are not similar at all. For example the channel handling in Nuke, which is pretty powerful, can create a lot of confusion when trying to follow the logic in Fusion.

Yeah, once you know the tools on one and the equivalent, or if there is no equivalent how to build something to do the same thing, you can easily use tutorials from other software.

I sometimes do some AE to Motion and AE to Hitfilm for fun.

A little over a year ago I used a Nuke tutorial to do an energy shield, it was fun and I liked the result.
