Studio dongle not recognized

Fusion Studio 8.1 was working fine on my OS X 10.11.6 machine for months. Now suddenly it is not recognizing the dongle. The dongle is in the same place it's always been and the indicator light is on. I have not made any changes to the OS. I have tried changing the usb port but no luck. It's right next to the Resolve dongle and Resolve Studio is working fine.

Any ideas?

Dongle is now recognized after complete system shutdown. I had tried restarting 2x but apparently a full shutdown was needed.
