Change Edit Page Resolution without breaking Fusion Comps!

PostMon Apr 19, 2021 8:28 pm

Just wanted to post this, because I was wrestling with this issue for several days before I figuring it out. Hopefully my solutions saves someone else some time.

If you need to change your timeline resolution, say to make an igtv version of a youtube video (16x9 to 9x16) you will quickly realize that the fusion comps will not make the transition very well. Things get moved around, squished, etc.

Enter the solution! Wrap each fusion comp in a compound clip before changing the timeline resolution. This will preserve them in a 'container' of their native resolution and your life should be a lot easier.

Hope that helps!

P.S. Don't try to fix it in fusion! I tried every conceivable thing to make that work. Resize nodes, all of it. Save yourself the headache.
