[18b2] pRender goes faster?

PostWed May 18, 2022 6:15 am

I found that pRender is 9x faster than v17 in my case. 9 times!? However, when it is used with Render3D, it is only slightly slower than v17. That is a little disappointing. What do you think?

I get the same results on the m1 ultra (often a 10x speed improvement). I also need to change how I normally do my render3d, and now flip the render3d to opengl instead of software. It's also different optimizing the graph m1 vs intel, so I am finding I stick to the m1 for compositing because I can't optimize the node graph for both.

In my case, the OpenGL renderer is slower than the Software renderer when it comes to particles. 18core i9 > Nvidia A5000. Lowering the OpenGL anti-aliasing value from the default will improve it somewhat.
