Kartaverse Workflows | A Resolve/Fusion Based Pipeline Guide

PostWed Nov 30, 2022 3:33 am

As a technical writer and pipeline TD in the visual effects sector, I am pleased to be able to share a new XR workflow guide that I've just completed.

In time, I hope the learning content might be deemed an essential read for those interested in accelerating immersive media post-production workflows using Blackmagic Design's Resolve Studio and Fusion Studio software as the central hub-like toolset.

The free guide has over 512 pages of content that covers the primary steps required to get a working content creation pipeline established from scratch for artists working at a freelancer, or small boutique studio scale of operation. Additional, expanded chapters cover broader Resolve/Fusion page usage concepts that will help you take your composting and 360VR content creation skills to the next level.

Base Google Docs Edition:
Kartaverse Workflows | Immersive Pipeline Integration Guide

I'll be the first to admit that the document is a long read but you will be rewarded with a wide range of insights into topics you've likely not explored in-depth before. Enjoy! :ugeek:

Note: Special thanks go out to BMD staff including Peter Chamberlain, Steve Roberts, Kerry de Boer, Stephanie Hueter, Daniel Koch, and Peter Loveday for their assistance over the many years I've worked on Resolve/Fusion based community projects. Without their kind and thoughtful assistance many projects including this guide would not have been possible for me to create.

I'm still working on new Reactor Package Manager delivered node-based ML tools, and KartaVP, so my relaxing vacation time comes around Xmas and the New Year.

Amazing work Andrew, I can't count how many times in the past I have referenced your work on WSL, but you have certainly made a lot of peoples lives easier with all your hard work. Thank you.

Thanks Kel!

One could not ask to be part of a more caring and considerate community than the Resolve/Fusion ecosystem has. So many people go above and beyond daily. :)

BTW I sent you a BMD Forum based PM message. Cheers.

I'm pleased to be able to provide additional offline downloadable versions of the Kartaverse project documentation. This content is available in PDF, ePub book format, as well as the "Scrivener" writing tool format.

It's effectively an immersive content creation encyclopedia. :)

As part of pushing Kartaverse workflows forward in 2023:

Today is day one of me starting up full-time C++ dev coding work on an OpenFX based interactive NeRF rendering plugin integration. This effort is happening under the working title of an "OpenDisplayXR" project banner.

https://github.com/OpenDisplayXR

Things are picking up speed in the best ways possible. The positive feedback and support from friends in the Resolve/Fusion, immersive, XR, fulldome, VolCap, and virtual production spaces has been super encouraging, and welcomed. Thanks everyone.

This effort is me doing my small part to try and help push nVP (neural virtual production) technologies forward in an open-source Apache 2.0 licensed, accessible, flexible, and high performance fashion.
