CC node changes previous background?

Hi,

I have this curious problem, which I believe can only be due to some logic hiccup of mine: When I add a color corrector before a merge node to correct the signal that goes into the foreground (green), the CC also changes the background of the merge node (going in yellow). Why is that? How do I have only the incoming (green) signal affected, not the whole signal path?

See problem in screenshots (cc engaged, and not engaged): the pink dot (right) is not affected, whereas both the light blue background, and the green dot on the left turn black with cranked up contrast.

What is it that I am not understanding? Shouldn't the CC only affect the BW picture, not the blue background or the dot on the left?

Thanks so much,

Robert

On the third tab of the CC node, make sure the Pre-Divide/Post-Multiply box is checked.
