Creating OpenEXR files with mattes.

PostWed Jan 29, 2020 11:14 pm

Well right now I create 2 sets of files: front plate and a matte plate ( its for a colorist ).
All DPX.

It is possible for those mattes to be embedded into Open EXR ?
I'm creating mattes in fusion and exporting in resolve delivery tab.

Anyone has done that? Is it even possible ?

PS. Posted in Resolve forum , no takers.
Maybe fusion board can help.

The LifeSaver fuse, available in Reactor, can do it. However, it does not currently support any compression other than zip, I believe.

To add a layer, go to the Channels tab and click the '+' button at the bottom. A new input will appear on the Flow, and there will be text fields on the Channels tab where you can name each layer and choose what channels you want to include.

You can't export through Resolve's Deliver tab. Instead, you'll need to use the Render buttons in the fuse itself.

As it happens, one of my coworkers had the exact same question just two days ago, so it was fresh in my mind. :) Unfortunately, she needed to be able to save with DWA compression, so we took a different tack.

Looks like the competition can do this with ease:
