Optimal desktop for fusion

PostThu Jul 16, 2020 11:09 am

Hi! I'm currently using a laptop with 4 GB GPU and 8 GB RAM for creating effects on fusion and usually with proxies I get maybe 10 fps playback at best. What kind of desktop would you recommend for smooth playback? Budget around 3000 euros.

Any desktop you can buy for that kind of money will be fine for Fusion. Just put in a fast processor, lots of ram, SSDs for caching and a videocard with as much vram as you can afford.

More memory > more cores ;-)

I'm still running Fusion on a 3rd generation i5 with 16GB of ram and a 6GB GTX 1060 and I can still get work done. € 3000 will get you a fine machine for Fusion, no problem.

Yes, what Sander said. Up until recently, I did everything on an I7, 16Gb and a GTX970.Sure, some comps were slow, but all in all, things got done.
