Fusion 17 Beta 2 BUG - Time Controls do not work sometimes

PostFri Nov 20, 2020 9:26 am

Hi there,

another Bug in Fusion 17 Beta 2:

When I want to step a frame forward or backward I always have to click inside the flow view or the timeline to get my arrow keys to work. When I'm in the viewer (polyline, merge, transform...) the arrow keys always move a polypoint, the transform handle or something.

Also remapping keys does not work.

This is actually a feature I believe.
You could always move the transform handles using your keyboard but they changed the behaviour to better fit into Resolve.
Now it's context sensitive depending on which pane is active.

This was not present in F16. It's absolutely nerv wracking cause I always have to move my cursor to the flow before I can move frames further and back. I accidentally ruined some roto work cause I pressed the arrow keys for like minutes and didn't realized that my poly points moved around in the viewer.

Blackmagic -> PLEASE CHANGE THAT!

The reason that it was changed probably, was because pre-16 this was the behaviour all Fusion users knew (and loved). Adjusting the position of your rotopoints with the arrow keys is a logical way to do this.
Your frustration is recognizable, just the reverse of my own: in 16 I lost quite a couple of hours because I kept changing the frame I was working on, while I was only trying to nudge my points.

Yeah, that's a feature. If you want to use hotkeys that have the same behavior regardless of context, use the bracket keys.
