Media disappears in Fusion on frame 120

PostFri Dec 11, 2020 6:25 pm

I constructed a large 3-D lacrosse field in Fusion, but the football field lines and the sky keep disappearing after 120 frames (5 seconds at 24 fps). This is not a keyframe issue. The node that keeps disappearing is a media image of football field lines, which lies beneath my lacrosse field. Also, the node of the sky keeps disappearing at frame 120. I submitted a *.pdf attachment showing side-by-side pictures of my 3-D lacrosse field on the Fusion page at frame 0 (field lines and sky are both visible) and frame 120 (the field lines and sky have disappeared).

I am a novice user of DR. I might have erred in how I originally created the Fusion nodes. I never clicked on "Create Fusion Clip" on the Edit page. Instead, I merely dragged the image onto the timeline and then started editing the node of my MediaIn1 image (the football field lines) on the Fusion page. Then I constructed an entire 3-D sports field around this node. The MediaIn1 node was originally (by default) 5 seconds @ 24 fps, which is 120 frames. Even though I stretched the media image on the Edit page to 17 seconds, the MediaIn1 image (football field lines) still disappears after 5 seconds. I don't think this has anything to do with keyframes. The image just disappears at frame 120. I cannot figure out what I am doing wrong. Also, the blue sky disappears at frame 120. A few other nodes disappear at frame 120, also. This is so strange. How do I fix my problem? Help me. Thanks. -Tim

I attached my lacrosse field diagram for those who might wish to open my project file and see if they get the same error I am getting. On the Fusion tab, select the central merge node with everything connected to it and hit the "2" key on the keyboard to place it in Viewer #2. Then click the Run button. At frame 120 is when I see the disappearance of various nodes, including the football field lines, the sky, and several of the words on the colored field areas. This problem is driving me crazy. My project file is posted at https://drive.google.com/file/d/1wa8ETT ... sp=sharing. Help!

If you open the Keyframes editor, you can see that most of your nodes in your FB_Field group are only 120 frames long. Try ungrouping them by right-clicking and choosing "Ungroup". Then from the Keyframes editor, you should be able to extend their length to the full 359 frames. You might also have to modify the keyframes on some of the other nodes.

I had a very similar problem, where a short video I was inserting directly into my fusion effect was disappearing on frame 900. The video was 30 seconds long, 30 fps. Now it all makes sense  Thank you very much for your answer!

For Anyone else who has had this magically happen to your Fusion composite, I had the same thing happen. Had some Rolling credits with images that I would roll in.. Then I restarted my computer, ald lo and behold after 120 frames. a bunth of images were gone. I went to keyframe editor, and the images that were the length of my composite were now 120 frames....

So somehow on reload, the images that were in sequential order did that... So it must have did something funky.

I ended up just draging the matching images over the mediain nodes to fix it.

I'm sure there is a better way though.
