Next frame = Move Spline Point (avoid possible) SOLVED

PostThu Dec 17, 2020 9:14 pm

Hey, this is a workflow question.

I love being able to use the "left/right"-arrow keys to jump to the previous/next frame in my sequence.
BUT, when im editing a spline, the arrow key will move the active point.
I have to click into the node-window to be able to use this keys for frame navigation, again.

Is there a way to avoid that arrow keys will be used to move spline-points?
For me personal its useless as im always working with my mouse or tablet-pencil.

And while rotoscoping (as example) we should be able to navigate in the timeline without need to make extra-clicks into the node-window.

Or- are there alternative keys, or key combinations for frame navigation?

Okay just found custom keymaps and using now Ö+Ä. This way it works fine!

Many of us long-time users were infuriated with the L/R arrow keys were overridden for frame stepping. It made rotoscoping very frustrating since we couldn't nudge points. It's still annoying to not be able to traverse a comp with the arrow keys—we used to be able to move to the next or previous node in the flow that way. It's less of a hassle than not being able to nudge, but I do wish the hotkey editor were capable of overriding that behavior.

For that matter, I wish the hotkey editor were a little easier to use—it's difficult to comprehend, and even after several years of using Fusion, I still have to try two or three things before I get the binding I want.

But, as told before, you can add step +/- to any key using keymapping.
Its simple to use and it works fantastic!
