Nothing visible in 3D Space

I'm new to Fusion (and apparently dumb) and I'm trying to make basic 3D text. However, once I create a 3D text node and type in whatever text I want, nothing shows up in the 3D space. There's a tiny sliver of the text that shows on the blue cube within the 3D space but the rest of the text seems to be completely transparent. If I render it and merge it with a background node I can see it just fine in that node. I put a screenshot with this to show what I'm talking about. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Can you install and load the same comp in 17.0?

I have the same problem with 17.1.1 Build 9.
Is there anything else I can do except downgrade?

As far as I know you can't download any 17 version before 17.1.1 (stable) anymore? So I can't say.
16.2.8 worked but the database model changed ...
