Have Relative paths stopped working?

I have a comp with a relative path and for some reason, it no longer works in 17.1.

I used a loader with an EXR sequence then changed the absolute path to a relative path and it no longer works?

I then tried comps I had previously made and they no longer work too.

Did I miss something?

Are you sure the paths are set up correctly? And are you having issues with custom ones or the default ones?

Update: Thanks for this nudge I moved the .setting and the EXR folder to the folder mapped in PathMaps and it works. Although would be interested to know if I have changed a setting in error as it used to work outside the default.


I have in the past changed an absolute path to a relative path with no issues, this would normally be outside the "PathMap" folders.

As long as the .setting file is in the same folder as the EXR Sequence folder I can set a path of Comp:\EXR\Seq01.exr and it pulls in the sequence. This has now seemed to have stopped.

When you say default which folders are you referring to?

Default Path maps like comp: in a Loader/Saver, or the ones like UserData: that's buried deep inside the application folder where it saves LUTs, macros and co by default.

I have added or changed a couple of locations for these. Like caches aren't on my C drive, and I have a easier to access folder for macros, scripts etc. And of course, Reactor makes it's own UserData: Path map, too. It's easy to screw something up if you miss a semicolon.

I also read a couple of times that the recent Fusion version doesn't properly saves the Preferences file. For me, it doesn't save custom keyboard shortcuts and once it suddenly didn't start and I had to delete the Preferences file.
So something is definitely going on with it, but I personally didn't have the path map issue.
