Fusion Breaks

PostThu May 06, 2021 7:11 am

I recently upgraded to 17.1.1 and found that Fusion wont open, just goes to a black screen.
I fully rebooted my computer and it didn't help. I went back to 16 and the issue was happening there too.
I then uninstalled everything and then installed 17 and the issue persist.

I'm running a Late 2013 iMac with 24GB of Ram but everything had been running fine prior to the update.
I know this has happened to others as I saw it on a forum somewhere, but nobody has offered an answer or solution that I've been able to find.

Try to find the Fusion Preferences file. Move it to another location and see if Fusion will start when it creates a new preferences file.
This was the issue why Fusion didn't start for me once. In my case the GPU settings were corrupted.

You can also copy and paste the parts from the old Preferences into the new file with a code/text editor. But most likely it will be faster to simply set them in the UI.
