No option to connect to SVG path

Hey, I'm trying to animate a logo by connecting a paint node to a path from an imported SVG. I'm not seeing any options when I click on "connect to" though. Any thoughts on what I should do?

I've already tried resizing and right clicking in a different area so I know it's not that there isn't any space for the menu.

It looks like you're doing everything you need to do.
Is there a reason you're trying to connect the paint tool?
I did a tutorial on SVGs that used this method, but since version 17 there's no longer a need to use a paint node as an intermediate, since the polylines have built-in write on/write off now. So you can just animate those and you should be good to go.

I'm using Resolve 17.2 Build 11.
So you were right about polylines having integrated write on/off. The polylinestrokes in paint nodes are labelled write on/off but for polygons (which the SVG paths import as) they are labelled "position" and "length". A little unintuitive for me but, now I know.
